"Gay" is an adjective usually to describe people as "carefree and lighthearted".
And let's be honest there's not enough good people in this world to generalize the planet as carefree and lighthearted.
So why is the world so gay you ask? Because from an optimist's standpoint, they think the world is a carefree place.
