Ye, i wanted to stay true to the original looks, but kinda give it my own flare. I'm not really a fan of when people give Megaman this super tricked-out design and make him look like he crawled out of a Michael Bay flick.
The way i see it is that his overall design was mostly inspired by Osamu Tezuka's works, like Astro Boy. Fitting since they're both kid robots that fight bad guys, and i wanted to stay true to that design language.

So you're saying you used AI but also did the rest?

I used AI as a starting point. I generated a bunch of random images, then picked one that I found interesting. Next, I refined the image, extending the canvas, moving things around, and adding in additional elements. Once the groundwork was done, I began my paint over. By the end of the process, every pixel on the page was original.
